Open House @ HD Westminster 9/28/13 from 10-2 pm

Harley Davidson of Westminster will be showcasing their 2014 models on September 28th from 10 - 2pm by hosting an exciting day of games, food, refreshments, demo rides, raffles & more.  It will be a great opportunity to scope out the hottest new bikes and mingle with some fellow riders.  I will also be there displaying several different Roadmap Mosaics to get the word out about these customized motorcycle artworks!!

The staff at the HD dealership has been kind enough to hang one of my pieces up in the showroom for all to see.  Thanks again Lauren & James!  Now, motorcycle enthusiasts from all over will have the opportunity to get an up-close look at these one-of-a-kind, framed collectors items.  Even if you can't make the event on the 28th, check out the Roadmap Mosaic of Las Vegas (below) when you get a chance.

Thank you for all your support and I will look forward to seeing you at the event!  The address is below:

I've been a huge fan of James Blunt for years, but my love for this guy just tripled.  He rides a Harley Davidson.  This video captures a glimpse of the freedom we get to experience on the open road.  Never taken for granted.  Thank you for a great song and a great video James Blunt!!!

Art of Independence Gala - October 19th @ Iowa Events Center

October 19th, 2013
7:00 - 10:00 pm
Iowa Event Center Ballroom

On Wednesday, August 21st I received an email from a young lady who I used to attend grade school with by the name of Jacque Bittner.  She now works for a non-profit organization by the name of CANDEO, which is hosting a gala at the Iowa Events Center on Saturday, October 19th, 2013.  In celebration of twenty years of service and the launch of their foundation, they created the ART OF INDEPENDENCE, which will feature regional and emerging artists of all types.  Custom and one-of-a-kind pieces will be available for purchase.  The email I received informed me that they would like to feature my Roadmap Mosaics artwork at the event.  I am flattered and ecstatic to have the opportunity to donate my work to help raise money for an organization such as CANDEO that provides community based support services to individuals with disabilities in Central Iowa (Learn more about the company at www.candeoiowa.org).  If you are one of the 500 guests they are anticipating at the event, enjoy!  And thank you for helping a great cause!

Sincerely,

Iowa State Fair 2013

For the next week and two days I am back home on vacation in good ol' Des Moines, IA.  This is where I grew up and went to school before moving out West.  Most Iowans can tell you how big of an event the Iowa State Fair is every year.  One of the fairs trademarks is the Butter Cow.  However, there have been many other butter sculptures over the years that have graced the fairgrounds.  One of which is this Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.  I haven't been to the fair in about 10 years, but I will be there tonight with some friends I made at the University of Iowa.  It should certainly be a fun time with mass consumptions of unhealthy food.  Check back for photos from the event!

These pictures were taken back in 2003, as this was created in honor of Harley-Davidson's 100th Anniversary.  How fitting that I am going to visit the grounds on the month of their 110th Anniversary!!

110th Anniversary Party at Harley-Davidson of Westminster (Event Recap)

The Anniversary Party at HD of Westminster was a huge success!  I stopped by the event at 9:00 am and there were already quite a few riders there.  The vendor booths were set up and ready for the day.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stay for lunch.  After snapping a few photos, I headed to the raffle tables to buy some tickets.  There was a Blitwell Bobber Helmet, some Sunglasses & an HD picture frame that I put tickets down for.   They had my artwork out on the table as well, which I have shown in the picture below :)  It was exciting to see something I created as part of the event.

There was a dice game for a chance to win a 2013 Harley-Davidson.  You had to roll all 6 dice at once and if the letters spelled out HARLEY, then you won the grand prize.  They gave you 3 rolls for $5, so I played $15 dollars worth but didn't end up getting anything close to spelling out the full word.  Oh well.  Hopefully some lucky winner walked away with a new bike!

On Saturday evening I got a phone call from Lauren Etheridge informing me that I had won the Blitwell Bobber Helmet!  I couldn't believe it.  Not a bad prize for $2 dollars!  She also informed me that they were able to raise a good amount of money for the DAV with the event and raffle items.  It was pleasing to hear that the event went off without a hitch and for a great cause.

It sounds like they are interested in setting up an art event at the dealership in the near future and would like me to attend, which I'm very excited and grateful for.  I will be honored to display more of my work at the next big event!

As soon as I know more about the art event I will be sure to post it right here on roadmapmosaics.blogspot.com
